Australian female singer Narelle Evans created a tribute show called “The Rockabilly Women” to honour the wild and rebellious women who took to the stage to belt out rockabilly music at a time when women were supposed to be sitting quietly at home. The show features the history and songs of Wanda Jackson, Lorrie Collins, Charline Arthur and Janis Martin.
Narelle asked Red Pepper Graphics to create some cover artwork for a CD of music from the show. She wanted a 50s cartoon version of herself and the guys in her band, as if they were performing in a 1950s nightclub. She loved the design so much, she asked us to make a poster for when her band “Narelle Evans and the Jetbacks”, performs it’s own gigs around Sydney and NSW.
